Glendenning Roof Repairs and Restoration

Named after a Plumpton butcher

Glendenning carries the name of William Glendenning, who had a butcher shop in Plumpton in the early 1900s. The suburb today is split in two: a large industrial and warehouse estate on one side, and residential streets of 1980s and 1990s brick-and-tile homes on the other.

The residential half is squarely in restoration territory. Those roofs are thirty to forty years old, the tiles are usually still strong, and what has worn out is everything else — the bedding, the pointing, the valleys and the surface coating.

A restoration here, step by step

1. Free inspection with photographs, including the roof space where there is access
2. Broken and chipped tiles replaced, matched to the existing profile
3. High-pressure clean, with gutters and downpipes flushed afterwards
4. Ridge and hip caps rebedded where the mortar has failed
5. Repointed with a flexible compound that can take the ground movement here
6. Primed and coated, weather permitting
7. Written workmanship warranty

The detail is on the roof restoration page.

If the roof is leaking now

Restoration is planned work. A leak is not. If there is a stain spreading on a ceiling, we come and find the entry point first — see roof repairs — and talk about the rest of the roof once the water has stopped.

Nearby we also work through Oakhurst, Plumpton and Woodcroft, and in every suburb on this list.
