The Ponds Roof Repairs and Leak Tracing

The Ponds takes its name from the waterways crossing the area, Second Ponds Creek among them. The suburb was built out in the current century, and it is one of the newest and most uniform housing areas in Blacktown City — two-storey homes, compact blocks, large unbroken roof planes and narrow eaves.

Roofs here are too young to wear out. What they do is develop faults at the places where the roof is interrupted.

The five calls we get from The Ponds

1. A leak that appeared after solar was installed. Brackets fixed through the roof, sealed once, never checked.
2. Water in the alfresco ceiling. Low-pitch roofs where the laps or the wall flashing cannot handle driven rain.
3. Gutter overflowing in a downpour. Big roof area, not enough downpipe capacity, or a downpipe crushed or blocked below ground.
4. Hail damage. Dimpled sheeting, split paint film on the ribs, dented gutters and bent cowls.
5. A stain between two levels, usually from a flashing at the junction of an upper and lower roof plane.

Two-storey means proper access

Most homes here are two-storey with tight side setbacks, so getting onto the roof safely takes more setup than a single-storey job in the older suburbs. That is factored into the quote honestly rather than hidden in a rate.
